I am Kate Parkinson, owner and CEO of Stonegate Outdoors which began operations in April of 1997 providing services in South Dakota and Minnesota. I have worked in the green industry since 1980, and am a plant specialist with a minor in Plant Pathology. A design veteran, I received my Bachelor's degree from South Dakota State University and my Master's studies were at Iowa State University. In addition, I currently teach a Horticulture degree from South Dakota's leading technical college Southeast Tech.

 

Stonegate’s projects have involved planting design, outdoor room development and extensive hardscape projects. I believe it is essential to know my clients well enough to coordinate projects that fit their needs as well as fit their project and our area. Every project needs to be unique and tailored to the individual client. My extensive hardscape design and installation experience and expertise in plant knowledge, particularly native plants, makes me the best person to assist you in developing a landscape project. I love the green industry because it provides me the opportunity to meet people from many walks of life and to continue learning each and every day.
